Benefits of Massage
Mind, Body and Soul

It used to be that massage was thought of purely as a way to relax and be pampered.  Today, through research and increased attention to ancient traditional medicine, we recognize massage as another tool we can use to improve our health and well-being.

Massage can facilitate improved health in people of all ages. It improves circulation, stimulates the immune system, clears the nerve endings, increases lymphatic drainage, improves digestion and elimination and improves mental clarity.  Massage increases blood flow to the muscles on a cellular level bringing nutrient rich oxygenated blood to rebuild, rejuvenate, restore and repair.  Friction increases skin temperature, encouraging detoxification through the pores. Massage breaks down fatty cells in the subcutaneous layer beneath the skin, helping to minimize the effects of cellulite.

Long flowing strokes relax and soothe the muscles and psyche.  Kneading strokes stimulate neurological activity as well as clearing lactic acid and toxins from the muscles.  Tapotement is effective in the treatment of respiratory ailments, including asthma and emphysema.   Applying pressure to neurological trigger points relieves pain and releases tension held in the muscles.  Foot reflexology has been compared to an MRI.  It gives the therapist information about the condition of body organs and systems.  Reflexology of the hands and ears can be effectively used to relieve acid reflux, pms symptoms, migraines, and an array of other conditions.

Massage combined with spa services such as exfoliating salt glow, detoxifying herbal wraps and the non-surgical facelift massage provide a heavenly escape that simply must be experienced.
